We’re beyond excited to announce that we’re partnering with Carrboro Film Fest for this month’s Second Sunday Sapphlix. We’ll feature 5 amazing queer short films and of the featured filmmakers will be in attendance for a Q&A, after their film.

 

This events showcased films:

 

Gay Haircut

Comedy about a bisexual stand up comic who must decide between the dick jokes of her past or committing to the bit and going full-queer.

Struggling to get over her ex-girlfriend, Gabriela impulsively decides to drop into an old job, where she unexpectedly runs into a friend from her past.

Heather Has Four Moms

When Heather decides to lose her virginity for her 15th birthday, Mom’s wife must convince Mom, and Mom’s ex, and Mom’s ex’s partner that it’s time for Heather to have “the talk.” Which mom is ready to help Heather make a big decision? It’s a mother-daughter story. Times four.

Whistle Down Wind

In a tiny mountain town in Western North Carolina, two young women, Alex and Janie, have been best friends since childhood but are now caught in a secret relationship. Alex is cheating on her high- school sweetheart, and Janie is becoming increasingly restless with the intolerant nature of her hometown, bringing them to the boiling point of their complicated but beautiful relationship.

Roll Pin Punch

A sparring match between two MMA fighters, both women of color, and the pivotal moments leading up to the fight.

Directed by Debbie Vu. A short Q&A with the filmmakers will be held after the screening.
