Save the date for Steel String Brewery and Pluck Farmβs annual Queer Community Picnic on Saturday, June 1st, 2024! π³οΈβπ
Get your lawn chairs and picnic blanket ready for a fun-filled, relaxing day at the farm celebrating the start of Pride Month with our LGBTQ+ community and allies. It’s a family-friendly event with live music, a pop-up market with LGBTQ+ vendors, food trucks, face painting, a bouncy castle, and more!
Live Music:
– Multi instrumentalist and vocalist Matty Frank combines pop and R&B vocal runs with introspective indie folk rock sound palettes inspired by the genre’s saddest of lesbians. With lyricism at once infinitesimally specific and boundlessly universal, Matty Frank shows that queer people have more to talk about than same sex attraction.
– Queer retro folk rock band dedicated to making great music and bringing the community together, playing a mix of upbeat covers and soulful originals and of course love to keep things sorta spooky.
Vendors:
Independent Bookstore based out of Durham and Carrboro will be bringing their favorite picks of LGBTQ+ literature for all ages.
The event is a fundraiser for our Pride Month 2024 charity partner QORDS!
10% of sales will be donated to the organisation and additional donations can be added to your tab.
Smash of the Glass, Steel String Brewery’s Mango, Raspberry, Vanilla, Sour Ale will be available on draft and in cans to go all day. An additional $1 for each pint and 4-pack will be donated to the organisation through out the month.
The event is FREE and open to all!
Family- and dog- friendly.
