The 2024 Great Mebane Bake off
2pm-5pm – Saturday, February 3rd, 2024

- You must preregister by buying a ticket at either bar for $10 and providing your information (name, and what you’re baking)
- Once you pay the $10 registration fee you can pick up your provided 4 or 6-pack of beer
- Participants must bake an original dessert and bring it to the event at Pluck Farm on February 3rd in time for the 2pm start.
- Each dessert must be individually portioned and each contestant must bring a minimum of 40* servings (these can be halves or quarters of cookies or cupcakes).
- You must include a written/printed-out sheet that includes the ingredients used in your dessert for folks with allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Each dessert must include one of Steel String Brewery’s beers in some manner. We highly recommend our Freakness line of Stouts for chocolaty things, but maybe you want to go with something lighter for fruity recipes.
Judging:
- Each dessert will be judged by fellow bakers and attendees of the bake off.
- The first 40 people will receive a ballot allowing them to vote for their top 3 favorite desserts.
- Each 1st place vote will count for 3, 2nd place votes for 2, 3rd place votes for 1.
The bakers whose desserts receive the most votes will win some great prizes:
- 3rd place – $50 Steel String Brewery Gift Card
- 2nd Place – $75 Steel String Brewery Gift Card
- 1st Place – A trophy celebrating your victory as bake-off champion. A sixtel of Steel String Brewery beer (Restricted to Steel String Brewery core brands) for a celebratory occasion of your choice. $100 Steel String Brewery Gift Card
