Event Details
Friday evening live tunes at Pluck Farm with Bobby Frith and Anuraag Pendyal.
Anuraag Pendyal is a native of Carrboro who’s spent most of the past ten years honing his craft in New Orleans, playing everything from traditional music to rock’n roll, R&B, stride piano, improvised music, reggae, hip-hop, and more. He’s happy to bring you a set of his originals, standards, and covers, all in the New Orleans piano tradition.
Bobby Frith first encountered live music growing up in the mountains of Western NC through the local bluegrass band, The Stoney Creek Boys — the house band for Friday night barn dances. Years later, after studying jazz and composition at the University of North Carolina, performing, touring, recording, and working in musical styles and scenes as varied as country, rock, R&B, hip-hop, rap, and traditional gospel, he reencountered the bluegrass music of his past and dedicated himself to learning its repertoire, techniques, and traditions. He now joins his passion for bluegrass music with everything else he picked up along the journey to create exciting and novel musical experiences.
*The performance is free but any donations given to the musicians are much appreciated. Help us support local artists!
