We are having a follow up conversation on homelessness, poverty and hunger next Monday evening, 7pm at The Century Center across the street from the brewery. This conversation will be informed by the one we had in January and focus on actions we can take as a community to help folks struggling with homelessness and hunger. We hope to see you there!

Be sure to tune in Ragged Gloryland with Rick Cornell tonight from 9-11 on WHUP as he’ll be featuring the music of Lynn Blakey. Complete details on tonight’s show below as well as Lynn’s show at Steel String on Sunday.

Tonight’s Ragged Gloryland… Let’s see, among the set themes are whiskey, Knoxville, Lynn Blakey (in advance of her Steel String Session show this Sunday), new releases, Stephen Allen Davis, and more new releases. Well, how about you put some names to those themes, DJ Ricky? Fair enough: Slobberbone, Hayes Carll, Tres Chicas, Irma Thomas, Johnny Paycheck, the Tim Lee 3, Mavis Staples, the Pogues, and the V-roys — and those are just for starters. Get the full roster and listening experience by tuning in from 9 to 11 at 104.7 FM or whupfm.org.

There are a million ways to brew a Saison, from the straightforward like our Little Sadie, to the hoppy like HiphopOpotamus, the dark and roasty like Dooley, to downright funky like Pretty Polly. We love celebrating the Belgian tradition of brewing a simple beer that takes advantage of what you can source locally, Saisons maintain a sense of the place in which they were made.

Keep an ear out for the details of this years Cardinal Directions Beer Festival, celebrating North Carolina made Saisons, returning for a second year this spring!

Brett Mon is back and drinking mighty fine. This pale ale is fermented exclusively with Brett Trois resulting in rich tropical fruit flavors and a dry finish, just a hint of funk. Bottles are available in the taproom starting tomorrow, will hit bottle shops next week. We don’t expect this beer to last too long.
